Work begins on SR12.7 billion Rabigh power plant
Business & Finance Club - Riyadh : South Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has begun work on a 2,500-megawatt power plant in Rabigh, 150-km northwest of Jeddah, after the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded it the SR12.7 billion ($3.39 billion) contract.

Kuwait Petroleum Signs Acid Gas Removal Contract With Maire Tecnimont

Business & Finance Club - Kuwait : Kuwait National Petroleum Co. signed a 117 million-dinar ($407 million) contract with Italy’s Maire Tecnimont SpA for an acid gas removal project at the Mina Al- Ahmadi refinery.

“We signed today,” Mohammed al-Ajmi, a spokesman for the Kuwaiti state-run refiner, said by telephone. The contract is for three years, he said.

Mina Al-Ahmadi is the biggest of Kuwait’s three refineries and has a capacity of 460,000 barrels a day.
