Health reform: Fitness, personal training coverage more common

Business & Finance Club - Fitness : Coverage of personal training services is not written in the federal health care law. But a trend is emerging among employers to pay for personal training and fitness programs. And federal subsidies available by 2014, when broad coverage is extended to 32 million uninsured Americans, may make it easier for employers to pay for such programs.

But even now, there's no reason employers can't buy personal training services or any fitness program. Trustmark Mutual Holding Co., for one, this year acquired Minnesota-based Health Fitness Corp., which offers employers on-site staffing of gyms or wellness centers that range from personal trainers to facility managers.

Employers and the insurers they hire, however, do want personal trainers to be certified, as you are.
